An end to Inktober, what's next?

Well, Inktober came and went with only one creation to show. I present Dr Frank-N-Furter, as played by Tim Curry in The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

I'm glad I did something for Inktober and wish I had done more. I do have to admit that it's more than I would have done otherwise. So now what? I have to keep pushing myself ahead.

How about "Use it or Lose it" November. I have a wonderful craft room in the basement that I rarely enter anymore. Slowly I've been pulling stuff out and digging through the mess. Some of my scrapbook materials were misused by mice and had to be thrown away. Now that the weather here has turned cold I've got to be vigilant so the mice don't try to make a home in my craft room again! Alright I'm pumped up! Let's get in there!!!

Daily Creativity - Clipboards

In the midst of a busy life of work and family I am able find small creative projects that help keep me crafty. I wanted to share this fun, colorful addition to our wall that looks beautiful, used supplies I had on hand and helps keep us organized.

Supplies:
Standard pressed board type clip boards
Spray paint - if you want to change the clips to something other than silver
Scrapbook paper
Mod Podge
Paint Brush - for applying Mod Podge
Exacto knife

I left the plastic shrink wrap on the clip boards and used a hammered metal finish spray paint to customize the clip. Once that was dry, I removed the plastic wrap and coated the board in a layer of Mod Podge and applied the colorful scrap book paper. When dry, I used an exacto knife to trim the paper around the edges. Finally, top the scrapbook paper with one or two layers of Mod Podge and allow to dry thoroughly.

Sorry, I had taken step-by-step photos. They seem to have disappeared. Hope you enjoy this project anyway!

Artistic Resurrection

Currently, my artistic career is in a stage of resurrection. For a long time now I've focused on my family and my mildly creative job. I've kept myself going over the years by participating in a few art-inspired committees, scrapbooking family memories and creating kids art projects. So this is the basic plan:

Step one: Intentionally create art daily - still working on the daily part of this but some is better than none.

Step two: Get my site up and running - TA-DA!!!!!!

Step three: Work on some new projects for display - The library director asked me to participate in an art show this summer. Ideas are brewing in my mind - it's about time to make them happen.

Of course, there are many more things on this list and on all my other lists. We've all got to start somewhere, right? So for everyone else out there struggling to find the right blend of creativity in their life - I salute you. Start with a list and push ahead.
